The Vortex SC is a next-generation unlimited aerobatic aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator, created for pilots who demand precision, immersion, and uncompromising performance. Developed in close collaboration with champion aerobatic pilot Melanie Astles, the Vortex SC has been carefully refined to capture the character, responsiveness, and raw excitement of a true high-performance aerobatic machine.

From its aggressive stance on the ramp to its razor-sharp handling in the vertical, every aspect of the Vortex SC has been engineered to deliver an authentic unlimited aerobatic experience. The aircraft features a highly refined custom flight model designed to reproduce the rapid roll response, precise energy management, and confident control authority expected from a world-class aerobatic platform. Whether performing competition sequences, low-level freestyle routines, or smooth flowing aerobatics, the Vortex SC feels connected, predictable, and alive in every manoeuvre.

The aircraft has been designed to offer extensive visual and operational customisation. Pilots can configure the Vortex SC with removable action cameras, wheel spats, aerials, and even an optional glass floor configuration, allowing the aircraft to be tailored for everything from clean competition flying to airshow photography and cinematic content creation. Both 3-blade and 4-blade propeller configurations are available, giving the aircraft distinct visual styles and personalities depending on pilot preference.

Inside the cockpit, the Vortex SC offers interchangeable avionics suites, allowing pilots to switch between a classic analogue instrument layout or a modern digital cockpit environment. This flexibility allows the aircraft to appeal equally to traditional stick-and-rudder purists and pilots who prefer contemporary avionics integration. The cockpit itself has been designed with clarity and immersion in mind, combining modern presentation with the focused functionality required during demanding aerobatic flight.

For those who appreciate engineering detail, the Vortex SC includes removable engine cowlings that expose a fully modelled powerplant beneath the sleek exterior. The audio environment is powered by an immersive custom sound pack developed by Echo 19 Audio Productions, delivering deep, aggressive engine tones and highly dynamic sound behaviour that enhances every throttle input, propeller surge, and high-energy manoeuvre. Combined with a realistic smoke system designed specifically for aerobatic display flying, the Vortex SC creates an authentic airshow atmosphere that feels spectacular both from the cockpit and during external viewing.

To further enhance immersion and variety, the aircraft includes 28 authentic liveries inspired by aerobatic and display flying culture, allowing pilots to select from a broad range of striking visual schemes. Importantly, all major visual configuration options and effects are fully multiplayer compatible, ensuring that customisation choices, smoke effects, and aircraft presentation are accurately represented during formation flights, shared experiences, and virtual airshow events.
