Murray Field was established in 1919 by local pilot Dayton Murray Sr, and was later named for him after the county acquired the field in the 1930s. The developers have taken some pristine photoreal imagery and expertly blended it with FTX Northern California. Murray Field is located east of Humboldt Bay on filled land and the airport only features one asphalt runway after its original runway was closed in 1997. The scenery is expertly modelled from hundreds of one-site photos taken by Orbx staff and features all the realistic lights and shadows from the ambient occlusion baking. You can take a break from flying and try a bit of drag strip racing on the Samoa drag strip which is next to the airport. Plenty to do and see with this one and only a short hop to Orbx KFOT Rhonerville Airport.
