DCS Mission - Defend Kiruna - Winter - A-10A FC

This is a freeware mission for DCS: Kola map and the Flaming Cliffs version of the A-10A Thunderbolt II.

Requirements:

Orbx DCS: Kola map, for DCS: World, of either the e-shop or Steam version.

(Note that we also have a version of this mission for the A-10C II Tank Killer module)

Installation:

After unzipping the .zip file, move the “KOLA - Defend Kiruna - Winter - A-10A FC.miz” file into C:\Users[username]\Saved Games\DCS\Missions, and (re-)start DCS: World. The mission should then be visible in the Missions submenu.

Mission Briefing (also see included annotated map):

Situation:

  • REDFOR has pushed BLUEFOR back toward Kiruna and has prepared a final push to take out all of BLUEFOR currently in the city.
  • REDFOR has mobilized a large convoy that is currently pushing toward the city.

Blue Task:

  1. Defend Kiruna.
  2. Follow the given route toward the AOR (pg 1). The floating green gates indicate the preferred flight path.
  3. Take out all enemy vehicles on the road AUDI (pg 2) with a popup gun strafe. Watch out for enemy AAA!
  4. Friendly ground units will be on Phase Line 1 (pg 2).
  5. After all the enemy vehicles are destroyed you can land at ESNQ Kiruna airfield (UHF 250.500).
