2WA1 Diamond Point Airstrip

for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024

Orbx indie developer Andreas Hegi brings one more popular classic from Prepar3D & FSX to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024!

Diamond Point Airstrip (2WA1) is an airpark-type airfield. A residential airpark is a "fly-in community" specifically designed around an airport where the residents own their privately owned airplanes, which they park in their hangars, usually attached to the home or integrated into their home. This gives the airfield its unique characteristics.

Andreas has reproduced the residences with adjoining hangars very authentically, with many details based on photos taken on-site. The runway is quite narrow (7m or 24ft), so it’s quite challenging to land. The scenic location on a plateau on the coast is often exposed to unpredictable gusts of wind, which makes landings and take-offs even more difficult. With stunning coastlines, beaches, cliffs, and an offshore island, this place not only makes for a challenging landing but has just about the most delightful GA circuit area ever featured in MSFS.
