EDAZ Schönhagen Airport

for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024

Airfield Schönhagen - EDAZ:

As one of the largest commercial airfields in Germany, Schönhagen is developing into the most important reliever airfield for the capital's Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER/EDDB). With around 45,000 aircraft movements and almost 300 jobs in 41 companies, Schönhagen is one of the region's key economic locations.

Surrounded by the picturesque forest, heath, and lake landscape of the Nuthe-Nieplitz Nature Park, Schönhagen Airport is an ideal location for well-known flight schools, flying clubs, and restaurants. Whether for established companies such as Cirrus or Aquila, Schönhagen offers the optimal use of hangar space for the maintenance and development of aircraft.

The airfield is not only a place for air traffic, but also an important research facility. Projects such as ITEAL (Innovative Fuels for Low-Emission Air Traffic) or ALADIN (Advanced Low Altitude Data Information System) show how the airfield is involved in innovative research and development projects.

Heliport Groß-Kreutz – DE0694:

The special helicopter landing area in Groß-Kreutz, Brandenburg, is located to the west of the state capital Potsdam, directly on the regional railway line “RE-1”.

The heliport is operated by DHD Heliservice and serves as a base for helicopters used for transport and business/operational flights.

Helipad Hospital Luckenwalde – LUCKW:

Luckenwalde Hospital is located approximately 10 kilometers south of Schönhagen Airfield.

Rescue and intensive care transport helicopters occasionally land here at the helipad, which is a few meters away from the hospital. Patients have to be transported by ambulance.

Helipad BER/ EDDB (Berlin-Helicopter):

Anyone who has ever taken a flight over the city or departed from Strausberg (EDAY) aboard Berlin-Helicopter's most popular sightseeing helicopter will understand the point of interest I want to highlight.

The H-130 helicopter, registered as "D-HERZ," serves as a popular tourist attraction, offering flights that take passengers soaring over the rooftops of Berlin for nearly the entire year.

POI Weltballon (Air-Service-Berlin):

Another very striking feature is the world balloon near Potsdamer Platz.

Here you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city directly from the center at a height of approximately 150 meters. The balloon is attached to a steel cable and rises into the air every 15 minutes.
