EDDI Sundownersim 1970s Berlin Tempelhof Airport

Step back into divided Berlin at the height of the Cold War. Berlin Tempelhof (EDDI) recreates the legendary "Mother of all Airports" in its 1970s glory days, when Pan Am 727s and BEA Viscounts shared the apron with USAF transports under the sweeping canopy of one of the largest buildings in Europe.

Beyond the fence, the scenery extends into Cold War Berlin itself: Berlin Wall segments and watchtowers, Checkpoint Charlie, the Fernsehturm TV tower and the Palast der Republik, so the approach into Tempelhof's runways tells the story of the divided city below.

1. The Airport

• Fully custom, highly detailed model of the iconic 1.2 km curved terminal building.
• Complete EDDI airport layout: 2 runways with ILS and VASI, 15 usable parking stands, 6 helipads
• Custom, era-accurate, high-resolution aerial imagery of the airfield and surroundings

2. Static Aircraft (period liveries, individual registrations)

• Pan Am Boeing 707
• Five Pan Am Boeing 727-200s (N320PA, N324PA, N340PA, N357PA, N358PA)
• Three BEA Vickers Viscounts (G-AOFX, G-AOYT, G-AYOP)
• Grumman Gulfstreams in six liveries: BEA, TWA, Pan Am, USAF, US Army and unmarked grey
• USAF C-5 Galaxy (cargo doors open and closed variants) and C-130 Hercules
• F-8 Crusaders and a Lockheed U-2 with dedicated hangar

3. Ground Life

• Dozens of period vehicles: jeeps, MP patrols, follow-me and maintenance Fords, Esso and USAF fuel trucks, fire trucks, tugs, buses and minibuses, GPUs and staircase trucks
• Military hardware on display: M48, M41 and M113 armour, BRDM and UAZ patrol vehicles

4. Cold War Berlin

• Fly the whole length of the Berlin Wall: segments, corner sections, obstacles and border watchtowers with period set dressing
• Checkpoint Charlie and concrete checkpoint installations
• "Spy exchange" bridge scene
• Berlin TV Tower (Fernsehturm) and Palast der Republik landmarks

5. Mission Pack

• Includes a 3-mission campaign (approx. 3.5hr long campaing) designed for the Bo105. Fly a Bundespolizei helicopter out of historic Tempelhof, patrolling the Wall over a divided city. From dawn reconnaissance runs and medevac dashes to covert CIA extractions. Requires Miltech Mission Hub and Bo105. Both are sold separately.
• Missions include custom Audio: voiceovers, ATC chatter, briefings, or ambient sounds. For audio to work correctly, three folders must be manually copied over to the WASM Work Folder.
