TJVQ Vieques Airport

Antonio Rivera Rodríguez Airport (IATA: VQS, ICAO: TJVQ, FAA LID: VQS) is a public airport on the island of Vieques in Puerto Rico. Because a large amount of Vieques's yearly revenue comes from the tourism industry, this airport plays an important part in the Vieques economy. For decades, the airport has been the hub of Vieques Air Link, and also a destination for a number of small airlines.

Vieques is the largest of the Puerto Rican archipelago minor islands. It is situated on the Eastern shore of Puerto Rico, roughly 6 miles East of former US Naval Station Roosevelt Roads. In the period of 1960-2004, Vieques Island was used for naval weapons live exercises and features several small airfields that were once used as unfriendly military props.

Vieques Airport is served multiple times a day by Vieques Air Link (from Isla Grande and Ceiba airports), Cape Air (San Juan Luis Munoz Marin), and Air Flamenco (Isla Grande Airport). It is a very common GA destination for both local and US Virgin Islands visitors.

The scenery features a fully detailed Terminal building, which allows the user to walk in avatar mode from the ramp, through the lower terminal level, up the spiral stairs to the upper level, and out through the bridge to the parking lot. A detailed Vieques Air Link hangar is also included. Many other local "flavors" are also featured.

This Vieques airport scenery is a great add-on for Photorico's TJIG and TJSJ sceneries, allowing for a short 15-20 minute low-level flight, eastbound from San Juan, along the northeast shore next to El Yunque (the only US National Rainforest).

This scenery was developed natively in MSFS 2024 and is SU6-ready.
