Mount Isa Airport (ISA) serves as the primary aviation gateway to North West Queensland, connecting the "Oasis of the Outback" to the rest of Australia. Located just 6 km from the city center, the airport is an essential piece of infrastructure for the Mount Isa Inlier, one of the world’s most significant mineral provinces. It facilitates the daily movement of thousands of Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) workers, business travelers, and tourists, making it a bustling economic engine in a remote landscape of red earth and rugged mesas.
